Why Podium

Not Your Average Physical Therapy Clinic

Most PT clinics split your time between a tech and a provider. At Podium, Sam is with you for every minute of every 60-minute session, no aides, no double-booking, no generic protocols. Just you, Sam, and a plan built around your goals.

SCS-Certified Expert PT

Sam holds the SCS certification, a board credential in sports physical therapy earned by fewer than 10% of PTs nationwide. Paired with a sports residency at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Dry Needling, BFR & More in Every Toolkit

Sam is certified in dry needling (CIDN) and blood flow restriction training through Owens Recovery Science. Combined with cupping, manual therapy, and IASTM, every session draws on the full range of tools, whatever your body actually needs to recover and perform.

Inside a Real Training Gym

Located inside Moses Fitness, late-stage rehab uses real barbells, turf, and gym equipment, so you are training like an athlete from day one, not doing band exercises on a clinic table two months before you are cleared to lift again.

A Plan Built Around You, Not a Protocol

No two evaluations at Podium look the same. Sam builds every treatment plan from scratch around your injury, your activity level, and your goals, so you are not doing the same shoulder sheet the last three patients got.

FAQs

Real answers about cash-based physical therapy, what your first visit looks like, and how to get started on the South Shore.

Do I need a doctor's referral to get started?

In Massachusetts, you can see a physical therapist directly without a physician referral. No gatekeeping, no waiting for a prescription. Just reach out, tell us what is going on, and we will take it from there.

Is cash-based PT worth it if I have insurance?

Cash-based PT means every session is 60 minutes, 1-on-1 with Sam, no splitting your hour with a tech, no rushed protocols, no cookie-cutter exercises. Most patients find they need fewer total sessions because the work is targeted from day one. Podium also accepts HSA and FSA, and provides superbills so you can self-submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

How many sessions will I need?

Every injury and every person is different. Sam will not give you an arbitrary number to fill the schedule. During your first session, you will get an honest assessment and a realistic timeline based on your specific situation, injury history, and goals.

Can I keep training while I do PT?

In most cases, yes. Sam works with active adults and athletes who want to stay moving. Rather than just telling you to stop, he will help you identify what you can safely keep doing while you recover and build progressively back to full capacity from there.

What happens during my first visit?

Your first visit is a 60-minute full body evaluation. Sam will get to the root cause of what is going on, walk you through exactly what he finds, and put together a treatment plan built around your goals not a printed handout of generic exercises.
